Touch Point - the arranger
Matthias Wenger completed his studies at the Swiss Jazz
School Bern in 2005. His main teachers were Kaspar Ewald,
Frank Sikora, Andy Scherrer and Klaus König. He attended
master classes and workshops led by Ernie Watts, Michael
Brecker, Daniel Schnyder etc. Currently, he is composing and
arranging pieces for a number of big bands, for instance, a concert evening
in Vorarlberg with the pianist Peter Madsen, USA (world premiere:
September 2006). He also composed the soundtrack for the motion picture
“Im Banne des Adlers” (Adelboden, 2004). And he plays the saxophone
in various formations, including the Uni Big Band Bern, Andreas Schärers
“Hildegard lernt fliegen” and Patrick Schnyders “PAT(CH)WORK”.
