Touch Point - the band
The Uni Big Band Bern was founded in 1995 by two students of the
Swiss Jazz School Bern. They engaged the Austrian jazz trumpet player
Wolfgang Pemberger as the musical director of the band. After 10 years
of existence, the Uni Big Band Bern consists today of highly qualified professional
musicians and ambitious amateur players. The repertoire of the
band ranges from funk and mainstream swing to jazz ballads and compositions
written by Big Band members themselves. The Big Band has
played on many stages and a number of festivals, both in-country and
abroad (Montreux under the sky, Alma Jazz Festival Bologna, Ocho Rios
Jazz Festival Jamaica, l’Œuf de Jazz Le Mans, FIMU Belfort etc.).
